Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The Aceh International Journal of Geography and Environmental Education Research (AIJGEER) welcomes high-quality original research papers that contribute significantly to the fields of geography and environmental education. Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:


1. Manuscript Submission

  1. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
  2. Submissions should be made electronically via the journal’s Online Submission system.
  3. Manuscripts derived from conferences, workshops, or symposiums must be clearly indicated during submission.

2. Manuscript Format

  1. Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
  2. The document should adhere to the journal’s template, which can be downloaded here.
  3. Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism and self-plagiarism.

3. Manuscript Structure

  1. Title: Should be concise, informative, and not exceed 20 words.
  2. Authors and Affiliations: Include the full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses of all authors. The corresponding author must be clearly indicated.
  3. Abstract and Keywords: Provide a structured abstract (max 250 words) in English and Indonesian outlining the study's purpose, methodology, and findings. Include 5 relevant keywords.
  4. Introduction: Explain the background, significance, and novelty of the study, with references to previous research.
  5. Methods: Clearly describe the data, analytical tools, and procedures used.
  6. Results and Discussion: Present findings with concise explanations and highlight their contributions to the field.
  7. Conclusion: Summarize key findings and their implications. Policy recommendations, if any, should align with the study's results.
  8. References: List all sources cited in the manuscript, adhering to APA (American Psychological Association) 7 style.

4. General Writing Format

  1. Language: Manuscripts may be submitted in English or Bahasa Indonesia (English is encouraged for global visibility).
  2. Length: Manuscripts should be between 4,000–6,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
  3. Formatting:
    • Paper size: A4, single-sided.
    • Font: TNR, 12pt, single-line spacing.
    • Margins: 2,5 cm.
    • Paragraphs: Indent 5 characters from the left margin.
  4. Title and Subtitles:
    • Main title: 12-point font, centered.
    • Subtitles: Bold, UPPERCASE, left-aligned.
    • Sub-subtitles: Italicized, capitalizing only the first letter of each word (excluding conjunctions).

5. Tables, Figures, and Equations

  1. Tables and Figures:
    • Titles for tables appear at the top, while titles for figures appear at the bottom.
    • Use Arabic numbering (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
    • Include sources and notes where applicable.
  2. Equations: Number equations sequentially as (1), (2), etc., aligning numbers to the right.

6. References and Citations

  1. References must be primary sources, with at least 80% published within the last five years. Limit textbook references to 20%.
  2. Citations in the text must follow the APA style, e.g.,:
    • Single author: (Hill, 2001)
    • Multiple authors: (McCain, 1982; Wagner, 1976)
  3. Manuscripts should include min. 25 references that are cited in the text.

7. Acknowledgment

Acknowledgments, if applicable, should be concise and appear as a footnote on the title page.


8. Use of Reference Management Tools

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley to format citations and references accurately.


10. Submission and Contact Information

  1. Submit manuscripts via the journal’s Online Submission system.
  2. Provide a brief bio during the submission process, including:
    • Full name
    • Academic title
    • Institution
    • Contact information (email and phone number).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
