Journal History

About Cakradonya

Cakradonya is an ancient stupa-shaped bell, a relic of the Samudera Pasai Sultanate in Aceh. The Cakradonya bell was crafted in China in 1409 AD as a gift from the Chinese Emperor, brought by Admiral Zheng He to the Samudera Pasai Kingdom in the 15th century. In ancient times, according to Acehnese culture, this bell was rung when residents around the palace complex were required to gather to hear important announcements or information from the Sultan of the Aceh Kingdom. Currently, this bell is enshrined in the Aceh State Museum in Banda Aceh.

We chose the name Cakradonya for this dental journal because its philosophical meaning aligns with local Acehnese wisdom as a bearer of good news and the latest information for the community. This aligns with the Cakradonya Dental Journal's goal of providing the latest information based on scientific publications in the world of dentistry.
