Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines

  1. All manuscripts submitted to the journal should be written in good English. Authors for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to check the grammar and clarity of the paper before submission. The Manuscript has never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media and does not contain elements of plagiarism.
  2. The Manuscript may take the form of research, case studies, or literary studies.
  3. The Manuscript length of 5000-7000 words, using at least 20 references published in the last 10 years, 80% of references are primary references/journal articles, and most of the references are from international references and authors. 
  4. The Manuscript will publish in Jurnal Didaktik Matematika after being reviewed by peer reviewers.
  5. The author should register as an author. The guide to register and submit the paper is at the home.
  6. The Manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines and Template. The writing template can be downloaded in JDM template
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Structure of the manuscripts
  1. Title. The title should be short, bright, and informative, but does not exceed 12 words. It has to be pinpointed with the issues discussed. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviations. The main ideas should be written first and followed then by their explanations.
  2. Author’s names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions, institution's address, and email addresses, without any academic titles and job titles.
  3. Abstract. Abstracts are written in English. The abstract is made in one paragraph and between 150-200 words which consist of the background, objective, research methods (design, subject/sample, instruments, data analysis), results, conclusions, contributions, and keywords (3-5 phrases).
  4. Introduction. The introduction must contain (shortly and consecutively) a general background and a literature review (state of the art), the main research problems, and the research method. In the introduction, the research of previous persons related to it and the difference with the research conducted must be written. In the final part of the introduction, the purpose/research question and novelty of the article writing should be stated (no more than 3 pages).
  5. Method. The method describes the type of research, population and sample or research subject, instruments, procedures for conducting research, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques.
  6. Result and Discussion. This part consists of the research results and how they are discussed. The results obtained from the research have to be supported by sufficient data. The research results and the discovery must be the answers, or the research hypothesis stated previously in the introduction part. The following components should be covered in the discussion: How do your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section (what/how)? Do you provide an interpretation scientifically for each of your results or findings presented (why)? Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)? Or are there any differences?
  7. Conclusion. The conclusion should answer the objectives of the research and research discoveries. The concluding remark should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions or abstract. You should also suggest future research and point out those that are underway.
  8. References. The literature listed in the references contains only the sources referenced or included in the article, using at least 20 references published in the last 10 years, 80% of references are primary references/journal articles, and most of the references are from international references and authors. Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. I hereby stated that this manuscript has never been previously published in any other scientific publication and is not being under reviewing process in any other scientific publication.

  2. The submitted manuscript has been written using Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

  3. The submitted manuscript should 12-20 pages A4 including figures, tables, and references, excluding appendixes. The Manuscript length of 5000-7000 words, using at least 20 references published in the last 10 years, 80% of references are primary references/journal articles, and most of the references from international references.

  4. The abstract should not exceed 200 words (150-200 words) and is written in English.

  5. I hereby stated that this manuscript does not consist of any plagiarism matter, and is my original work.

1. License

The article will be governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license as currently displayed on Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

2. Author’s Warranties

The author warrants that the article is original, written by the stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).

3. User Rights

JDM's spirit is to disseminate articles published as free as possible. Under the Creative Commons license, JDM permits users to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work. Users will also need to attribute authors and JDM on distributing works in the journal.

4. Rights of Authors

Authors retain the following rights:

  • Copyright, and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights,
  • The right to use the substance of the article in future works, including lectures and books,
  • The right to self-archive the article,
  • the right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal (Jurnal Didaktik Matematika).

5. Co-Authorship

If the article was jointly prepared by other authors, the signatory of this form warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to sign this agreement on their behalf, and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this agreement.

6. Royalties

This agreement entitles the author to no royalties or other fees. To such extent as legally permissible, the author waives his or her right to collect royalties relative to the article in respect of any use of the article by JDM or its sublicensee.

7. Miscellaneous

JDM will publish the article (or have it published) in the journal if the article’s editorial process is successfully completed and JDM or its sublicensee has become obligated to have the article published. JDM may conform the article to a style of punctuation, spelling, capitalization, referencing, and usage that it deems appropriate. The author acknowledges that the article may be published so that it will be publicly accessible and such access will be free of charge for the readers.


Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses included in this site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

This journal charges the following author fees.

APC for international authors as first author is USD 00.00 or the process and publication are free

APC for international authors as a corresponding author is discounted by 50%

APC for international authors as co-authors is discounted by 25%

Authors are required to pay an Article Processing Fee (APC) as part of the publication process. Payment of these fees may only be made after receiving a bill and invoice from the editor.
