PENGARUH URBANISASI, PERTUMBUHAN PDB SEKTOR INDUSTRI DAN PERTUMBUHAN PDB SEKTOR TRANSPORTASI TERHADAP POLUSI LINGKUNGAN DI INDONESIA

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyze the effect of urbanization,
GDP growth of industrial sector and GDP growth of
transportation sector on environmental pollution in
Indonesia. It employed Autoregressive Distributed Lag
(ARDL) model on annual time series data from 1994 to
2016. Results found that there is a short-term and longterm
relationship between research variables.
Furthermore, in the long term variables urbanization
and GDP growth of transportation sector are affecting
the environmental pollution in Indonesia positively and
significantly. The GDP growth of industrial sector also
has positive but not significant effect both in long term
and short term. Based on these results the study
recommends that environmental pollution should be
diminished by strengthening the transmigration
program and creating public green space in urban
environments. The study also stressed the importance of
green economy policies so that the GDP growth may be
increased without hurt the environment.
