Some Indonesian novels published in 2000s bring ideologies about education. What kinds of educational ideologies contained in those novels? To answer the question, we analyzed Andrea Herata’s tetralogy of Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow Troops), Tere Liye’s tetralogy of Serial Anak-Anak Mamak (Mother’s Daughters Series), and Ahmad Fuadi’s trilogy of Negeri Lima Menara (City of Five Towers). Using ideological analysis by critical discourse analysis (CDA), pedagogical ideologies of those novels can be disclosed.
