ECOLOGICAL TYPES OF MULTICULTURAL FOLKLORE IN BUOL

Abstract

This research is to review the ecological type of multicultural folklore in Buol. The problem in this research is what is the ecological type of multicultural folklore in Buol? This research aimed to describe the ecological type of multicultural folklore in Buol. The research method used the qualitative research with descriptive analysis approach. Data and data source is verbal data obtained from informants. Data collection technique involved (1) observation, (2) recording technique, (3) writing technique, and (4) documentation. Data analysis technique was done in four steps, namely (1) collecting, (2) reducing, (3) presenting, and (4) concluding. The results showed that there are two types of multicultural folklore in Buol, they are (1) nature ecological element and (2) culture ecological element. The ecological element of nature sees literature taking part in efforts to preserve nature as a source of life. Meanwhile, the ecological elements of culture make literature as a part of the preservation of tradition and its relation to myth or faith.
