Author Guidelines

A Brief Summary 

Indonesian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IJPS), abbreviated as Indon J Pharm Sci., is twice a year, open-access, peer-reviewed, and online international pharmacy journal. Indon J Pharm Sci. was established in 2023 and aims to provide updated scientific knowledge for researchers in pharmaceutical and related fields.

Indon J Pharm Sci. receives original research articles, short communication, and review articles on pharmaceutical and related health sciences. The journal only accepts manuscipts written in English. Topics covered in Indon J Pharm Sci. include Pharmaceutical Biology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Community and Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology, Alternative medicines. The manuscripts received will undergo an initial screening by the editors, before being subjected to a double-blind peer-review by at least two reviewers. 

Manuscript Style

The manuscript should be prepared in English. Please have your manuscript proofread by a native English speaker or a professional proofreading service to ensure clarity of the writing.

  • Original research articles – original research papers that have not been published elsewhere. The article length should be between  4000 and 8000 words (including an allowance for no more than 6 tables or 6 figures or a combination of 6 items in total). The reference included in the original article lied between 20-40 references.
  • Review articles – review articles will be considered for publication if the topics are within the journal’s scope. The article length should be between 8,000 and 10,000 words (including an allowance for no more than 6 tables or 6 figures or its combinations). The number of references used should be between 80-100. The authors must obtain permissions for reusing copyrighted figures and tables from published papers.
  • Short communications – the length of the communications should be up to 1500 words, describing work that may be of a preliminary nature but merits immediate publication.

The manuscript should be structured into the following sections:

  1. An abstract (200 - 300 words); embodying the concise description of the problem/purpose of the work, methods used, major findings and conclusions, accompanied by 3 -5 keywords
  2. Introduction; providing gap analysis, a brief statement of previous relevant work with references, and research objective(s)
  3. Material and Methods. For the study that involves animal or human subjects, an appropriate ethical clearence should be obtained.
  4. Results
  5. Discussion
  6. Conclusion
  7. Acknowledgment
  8. Conflict of interest

The manucript should be prepared using the provided template.

All illustrations including figures, charts and graphs, must be properly labeled, numbered in a consecutive manner (i.e. 1, 2, 3 etc) based on the order they appear and are mentioned in the main text, and accompanied with appropriate captions. Similarly, tables must also be properly labeled. Please check the manuscript template for more details. All figures must have minimum resolutions of 300 dpi. Tables should be provided in editable forms.

The reference list or bibliography and in-text citation must be formatted using the APA (American Psychological Association) style. The reference list should appear at the end of the manuscript and includes only literatures that are cited in the main text. We highly recommend the authors to use a reference management tool such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero to avoid inconsistency in the in-text citation and bibliography formatting. Examples on reference lists and in-text citation format are provided in the manucript template and some of the examples are also provided below.  Eighty percent of references used should be newer than 10 years.

Table are formated according to general agreement on publication where the horizontal line is kept in minimum and contained no vertical line.
