Peer Review Process

This review process is followed for all academic papers submitted to International Jurnal of Language Testing and Assessment

An author submits a 4000-8000 word manuscript. Editors of IJoLTA decide whether the submission meets the criteria of IJoLTA and is relevant to the topics of First and Second Language Testing and Assessment.

The next step is a plagiarism check by using Turnitin, which is necessary to protect the reputation of the journal against academic malpractice. The paper will be rejected straight away if an obviously-intended plagiarism is detected. If you are not sure of what plagiarism is and how to avoid it, please review this website: http://www.plagiarism.org.

Should the manuscript meets the criteria, it is sent to a reviewer to be double-blind reviewed. The reviewer is given up to 2 weeks to review the manuscript. The reviewer provides feedbacks by using an online Review Form and choose one of the following decisions:

  1. Accepted as it is
  2. Accepted with minor revision
  3. Accepted with major revision
  4. Rejected

The feedback will be sent to the author to make necessary revisions within the duration determined based on the amount of revision required, between 2 - 4 weeks.

After the revised manuscript is submitted, the assigned editor checks whether the author(s) has made all revisions suggested by the reviewer.
