HUBUNGAN KONSEP DIRI TERHADAP KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL PADA REMAJA DI PANTI ASUHAN

Konsep diri mencakup persepsi diri, penampilan, nilai, dan keyakinan yang mempengaruhi perilaku. Konsep ini sangat berkaitan erat dengan kecerdasan emosional yaitu kemampuan untuk memonitor perasaan, emosi sendiri dan orang lain untuk membimbing perilaku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan konsep diri terhadap kecerdasan emosional pada remaja di Panti Asuhan Nirmala Banda Aceh Tahun 2014. Penelitian ini berbentuk Deskriptif Korelatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu metode total sampling. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 53 orang. Alat pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner yang berbentuk skala Likert. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan SPSS dengan uji Chi Square. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara konsep diri dengan kecerdasan emosional pada remaja (p value 0,000). Analisa subvariabel konsep diri diperoleh ada hubungan citra tubuh (p value = 0,006), ideal diri (p value = 0,041), harga diri (p value = 0,019), peran (p value = 0,010), identitas (p value = 0,014) dengan kecerdasan emosional. Hasil penelitian ini dapat direkomendasikan bagi kepada kepala panti untuk terus memberi bimbingan pada remaja sehingga konsep diri serta kecerdasan emosional remaja baik.

Abstract
Self-concept includes self-perception, appearance, values, and beliefs that influence behavior. Self-concept consists of five components including body image, self-ideal, self-esteem, role and identity. This concept is closely related to emotional intelligence that is the ability to monitor the feeling, self-emotion and others to guide behavior. This research aimed to find out the relationship of self-concept with emotional intelligence in teenagers in Nirmala Orphanage of Banda Aceh in 2014. This research used descriptive correlative with total sampling technique. Data was collected on May 9, 2014 in Nirmala orphanage of Banda Aceh. The number of sample is 53 people. Data was collected by using questionnaire in form of Likert scale. Data was processed by using SPSS with Chi square test. Based on the data analysis found that there was significantly correlation between self concept with emotional intelligence in adolescene (p value = 0,000). Analysis sub variable of self concept found that there is correlation between body image (p value = 0,006), self ideal (p value = 0,041), self esteem (p value = 0,019), the role (p value = 0,010), identity (p value = 0,014)with emotional intelligence the result of study was recommended for head of orphanage to guide teenagers in order to improve their self concept and emotional intelligence.
