PENGARUH PSIKOEDUKASI TERHADAP KOPING ORANG TUA DALAM MERAWAT ANAK DENGAN THALASEMIA DI KOTA BANDA

Thalasemia merupakan kelainan darah bawaan yang ditandai dengan defisiensi pada kecepatan produksi rantai globin yang spesifik dalam Hb yang dialami oleh penderita seumur hidup sehingga berdampak pada psikososial keluarga. Prevalensi thalasemia terus mengalami peningkatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh psikoedukasi terhadap koping orang tua dalam merawat anak dengan thalasemia. Penelitian ini adalah studi kuantitatif dengan desain Pre-Experimental Design berupa Pretest-Posttest Design. Metode Sampel yang digunakan Total Sampling yaitu  berjumlah 20 orang tua yang mempunyai anak thalasemia di Kota Banda Aceh. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh psikoedukasi terhadap peningkatan koping orang tua (p = 0.001). Disarankan perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk melihat efektifitas psikoedukasi terhadap penyakit kronis yang lain.

ABSTRACT

Thalassemia is inherited blood disorders characterized by the deficiency at speed production of specific globin chain in Hb experienced by the patient for life and have psychosocial impact on the family. The prevalence of thalassemia is increasing continually. The purpose of this research was to find out the effects of psychoeducation parental coping in take care of children with thalassemia. This research used quantitative study with pre-experimental design in form of pretest-posttest design. Method of sample used was total sampling towards 20 parents who have children with thalassemia in Banda Aceh. The result showed that there was a significant effects of psychoeducation against the parental coping improvement (p=0.001). It is strongly advised to do more research to see the effectiveness of psychoeducation against chronic disease.
