ANALISIS KONDISI ARAH PERGERAKAN SEDIMEN BERDASARKAN ARUS DI ZONA LITORAL PERAIRAN TELUK ULEE LHEUE, KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR

Abstract


Indonesia is a maritime country that most of its territory consists of tens of thousands of islands with a very wide coastal area. One of the zones of the coastal area is the littoral zone. The littoral zone also a place for changes in the shape of the coastal profile.  Changes in the coastal profile such as sedimentation and accretion processes are affected by waves and currents along the coast. The location of this research was conducted in Ulee Lheue Bay, Aceh Besar District. Currently, the degree of influence of the current direction on morphological changes around the coast is unknown in Ulee Lheue Bay. The research methodology used includes: current analysis, wave analysis and sediment transport. To analyze the data, four measuring devices were used, namely a water level recorder to measure the water level, a current meter to measure current speed, and a turbidity meter to measure water turbidity. The data obtained from these measurements were analyzed using the Fortran programming language through the DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) equation. The type of filter used to process current and wave data in this study is the HPF (High Pass Filter) method. The results of the dominant current shows the dominant current movement at each observation point located in an east-west direction that is more dominant than the north-south current direction. Then, The angle of movement of north-south and east-west currents appears to still be influenced by tidal currents, so the data obtained varies.
