PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN KULIT KAKAO SEBAGAI PENGGANTI AGREGAT HALUS PADA JALAN RABAT BETON

Abstract


Concrete rebate roads are one of the roads built in rural areas, and concrete rebate roads themselves are widely used as a means of transportation for community mobility. So far, concrete rebate roads have had many shortcomings, such as damage. Based on the explanation above, research was carried out on the use of cocoa shells as a partial replacement for fine aggregate for concrete rebate roads. The ash content of cocoa shells can function as clay for making cement brick ash, because it contains 71% SiO2 which is the main ingredient in making cement. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using cocoa shell ash as a partial replacement for fine aggregate on the compressive strength of concrete rebated roads. In this research, the quality of concrete used is concrete quality (K-350) with f'c = 29 Mpa. The results of the compressive strength of concrete at 7 days of age with 0%, 1%, 1.5% and 2% cocoa shell ash, namely 29.25 Mpa, 20.76 MPa, 18.93 Mpa, 17.15 Mpa, 14 days of age 25.48 Mpa, 15.10 Mpa, 12.46 Mpa, 10.95Mpa, 28 days old 20.67Mpa, 11.89 Mpa, 8.12 Mpa, 7.17 Mpa. The research results show that the optimal compressive strength values of the test specimens with a percentage of 1% cocoa shell ash at the age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days are 20.76 MPa, 15.10 MPa and 11.89 MPa. The results of the compressive strength of concrete decrease with increasing levels of cocoa shell ash mixture. The more cocoa shell ash is used as a substitute for fine aggregate, the more the compressive strength decreases.
