Womens’ Labor Participation Determinants in the Sub-National Level: Case Study of Aceh-Indonesia
Abstract
This study aims to determine the factors that influence women’s labor force participation at the sub-national level, taking the Province of Aceh, Indonesia, as a case study. This is an essential issue because it addresses SDGs…?? And can promote economic growth. The variables in this study include marital status, age, education level, wealth, living in a village or city, status as head of a female household, female unemployment rate, economic growth, Regional Minimum Wage, absolute poverty level, and type of work. and gender equality and work participation. In this study, the authors used a logistic regression method with survey data from The Susenas Aceh 2019. The results showed that the factors that affect women's work participation in Aceh Province according to the data can be concluded that marital status, age, education level, wealth, residence, status of female household heads, women's unemployment rate, economic growth, absolute poverty, type of work, and gender equality significantly affect the variable women's participation in work in Aceh Province. The government is expected to increase the level of education for women in the province of Aceh, especially in rural areas, to increase women's work participation and promote increased economic growth in Aceh Province.
