PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI GURU SBK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN TARI TRADISI UNTUK PENGUATAN KARAKTER DI SEKOLAH DASAR KABUPATEN BIREUN

Abstract

Strengthening character is one of the important focuses that deserves special attention from the government and all elements of educational resources in order to give birth to a generation that is superior not only in terms of knowledge, but also from characters that are in accordance with their culture. This paper aims to describe that the competence of art and culture education teachers has a very important influence in strengthening the character of students through learning Acehnese traditional dance. This study aims to find a model for strengthening students' character as seen from the learning applied by art and culture teachers through Acehnese traditional dance lessons in elementary schools in Bireun district. The methodology used in this research is descriptive with a Mix Method approach, with data collection techniques interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that the teacher's competence in understanding the Acehnese traditional dance material in depth and carrying out cultural arts learning by telling the history of the traditional dance to be taught, the meaning of the dance followed by practical learning from the dance material, had an influence on the learning outcomes. Students are more passionate about dance and know the values that exist in the dance, which are values that are in accordance with the Acehnese culture in dance, understand the meaning of dance so that it is more animated when practicing in movements that make the learning process varied and fun.
