MENJAGA KELESTARIAN ADAT DAN BUDAYA ACEH DENGAN BERKREASI RANUP MEUSUSON PADA GENERASI MILENIAL

Abstract

This article aims to preserve Aceh's customs and culture in creating ranup meususon. The sophistication of millennial technology can gradually erode the nation's cultural identity, so it is feared that it will disappear over time. Ranup Meususon's activists are generally older people in the countryside. It is rare to see the involvement of the younger generation in the manufacturing process. Meanwhile, the ranup meususon is the most important part of the traditional Acehnese wedding procession. The form of preservation carried out is to describe the steps in making ranup meususon creations in the form of meukeutop kupiah or Teuku Umar skullcaps. There are several folds of betel leaf in the manufacture of ranup meususon, namely (1) folding funnel; (2) fold in half; (3) negative kite folding; (4) positive kite folding; and (5) fold the triangle. There are 7 (seven) main stages in the process of making the creation of ranup meususon in the form of kupiah meukeutop, namely: (1) Making the frame of kupiah meukeutop from banana stems; (2) Assemble the funnel-style betel leaf on the kupiah meukeutop base; (3) Assemble the half model of the meukeutop kupiah parts; (4) Create a triangular kupiah meuekeutop foundation framework; (5) Assemble a series of positive and negative triangle models on the foundation frame of the kupiah meuekeutop; (6) Connecting the framework of the kupiah meukeutop and the foundation of the kupiah meuekeutop; (7) Decorate ranup meususon with flowers or other accessories.
