RAGAM JENIS DAN FUNGSI KAIN TENUN ULOS BATAK TOBA DI DESA PINTU BATU KECAMATAN SILAEN KABUPATEN TOBA SAMOSIR

Abstract

The research is entitled "Various Types and Functions of Toba Batak Ulos Woven Fabrics in Pintu Batu Village, Silaen District, Toba Samosir Regency".The study investigates the function of the Ulos Batak Toba woven fabric in the community in Pintu Batu Village, Silaen District, Toba Samosir Regency. This study aims to describe the various types and functions of Ulos Batak Toba woven fabrics in the Pintu Batu Village community, Silaen District, Toba Samosir Regency. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The subjects of this research are the Ulos weaving craftsmen in Pintu Batu Village, Silaen District, Toba Samosir Regency. The object of this research is the Ulos Batak Toba woven fabric in the Pintu Batu Village community, Silaen District, Toba Samosir Regency. While the data collection techniques used were observation and interview to obtain a clear picture of the objects under current investigation and to explore more in-depth information and documentation by investigating the Ulos Batak Toba woven fabric to assist the researchers in completing this research. The results of this study indicate that there are 22 types of Ulos Batak Toba woven fabrics in Pintu Batu Village, Silaen District, Toba Samosir Regency, but in the research results, the researchers only found 17 types of Ulos Batak Toba woven fabrics, namely Ulos Ragi Hidup, Ulos Sibolang, Ulos Ragi Hotang, Ulos Sadum, Ulos Mangiring, Ulos Bintang, Ulos antak-antak, Ulos Bolean, Ulos Ragi Huting, Ulos Pinan lobu-lobu, Ulos Tutur-tutur, Ulos Tumtuman, Ulos Ragi Pakko, Ulos Suri-suri Ginjang, Ulos Simpar, Ulos Sibunga Umbang, Ulos Sitolutuho. Each of these Ulos has a function, namely for death events, baby shower, child birth events, entering a new house.
