Abstract: Krueng Raya –Bts. Kota Banda Aceh National road, at Baitussalam Sub-District in Aceh Besar Regency is one of a location with the highest number of accidents in Aceh province. The road that serve the public interest should have functional feasibility as it pertains to guarantee certainty of safety and security for users. This research aims to know the cause of accident from physical factors, road feasibility status, and handling recommendations to create the road that has safety value. Primary data obtained from observation through the measurements and field observations. Secondary data used are accidents data which was released by the resort of Banda Aceh City police. Data analyzed based on form test of the road functional feasibility with quantity method. The results showed that the cause of the accident on this road include the shoulder position deviation occurred against the road pavement surface of 566,67%, prohibition signs parking needs of 100%, and light in lighting layout of 933,33%. From the results it can be concluded that the status of Krueng Raya-Bts. Kota Banda Aceh road had been eligible to conditional function with recommendations (Ls), meaning that must be done according to the recommendations of technical improvements to achieve functional feasibility status.

Abstrak: Jalan nasional Krueng Raya- Bts. Kota Banda Aceh, di Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar merupakan salah satu lokasi dengan jumlah kecelakaan tertinggi di Provinsi Aceh.Jalan yang melayani kepentingan umum harus laik fungsi karena berkaitan dengan penjaminan kepastian keselamatan dan keamanan bagi penggunanya.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penyebab kecelakaan dari faktor fisik jalan, status kelaikan jalan dan rekomendasi penanganan agar tercipta jalan yang berkeselamatan.Data primer diperoleh dari observasi melalui pengukuran dan pengamatan lapangan.Data sekunder yang digunakan adalah data kecelakaan yang dikeluarkan oleh Kepolisian Resor Kota Banda Aceh. Data dianalisis berdasarkan formulir uji laik fungsi jalan dengan metode kuantitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab kecelakaan pada ruas jalan ini antara lain terjadi penyimpangan posisi bahu terhadap muka perkerasan jalan sebesar 566,67%, kebutuhan rambu larangan parkir sebesar 100%, dan letak lampu penerangan sebesar 933,33%. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa status Jalan Krueng Raya – Bts. Kota Banda Aceh adalah laik fungsi bersyarat dengan rekomendasi (Ls), artinya harus dilakukan perbaikan teknis sesuai rekomendasi untuk mencapai status laik fungsi.
