THE ROLE OF POLICE INTELLIGENCE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE IN TACKLING CYBER CRIME IN THE JURISDICTION OF THE BALI POLICE

Abstract


This study aims to find out how the role is carried out and the obstacles experienced by the Bali Regional Police Intelligence in carrying out preventive actions and investigating the existence of Cyber Crime in the Bali Police Jurisdiction. In addition, this research was carried out to find out the obstacles experienced by the Bali Regional Police Intelligence in conducting cyber crime investigations. This research is an empirical legal method strengthened by normative methods. The results of the study show that Police Intelligence plays a key role in preventing and overcoming cyber crime through a series of structured and proactive measures. This role includes collecting and analyzing information for early detection of cyber threats, mapping and profiling criminals, and developing security strategies to protect society and digital infrastructure. Intelligence also plays a role in public education and building cooperation with various national and international agencies. Through this role, Police Intelligence is able to identify and prevent potential cybercrime before it occurs, minimize the impact caused, and strengthen the security system in the Bali Province area.
