PENGEMBANGAN TANAMAN PADI SAWAH VARIETAS CIHERANG DI DESA LIEUE KECAMATAN DARUSSALAM ACEH BESAR

Abstract

One way of implementing five farms on rainfed rice fields is the use of superior varieties. Farmers in Lieue Village, Darussalam District, Aceh Besar, in developing paddy rice plants usually use local varieties with relatively low productivity. To overcome this, partner communities are offered solutions to the method of using superior varieties, namely Ciherang. The Ciherang variety has a potential yield of 9 tons ha-1. In addition to the development of the Ciherang variety in the target location, several other Panca Tani activities are also applied, such as weed control, pests, and diseases. The development of Ciherang variety rice plants along with other five farming activities, yield productivity and income of partner communities in Aceh Besar, especially in Lieue Village, Darussalam District, Aceh Besar, have increased. The results of community service show that the target farmers have understood the use of the Ciherang variety in seeding and planting in the rice-field, understand that superior varieties are better than local varieties, understand soil processing techniques in rainfed rice field systems, understand the use of balanced fertilizers, use of appropriate pesticides. One of the agricultural activities that cannot be measured is post-harvest technology, in the form of methods of harvesting and transporting rice paddy products. Furthermore, it is expected that there is a need for the introduction of other agricultural technology packages related to maintain the quality and productivity sustainability of Ciherang variety.
