APLIKASI TEKNOLOGI PROBIOTIK SEBAGAI STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN PERIKANAN AIR PAYAU

Abstract

The fisheries sector is one of the mainstay sectors of Aceh Province. Many post-tsunami mangrove rehabilitation programs have been implemented in Peukan Bada District, where one of the goals is as a pond ripen. However, pond farmers still experience problems in operating the land due to the sandy texture of pond land and have not utilized the existence of mangroves optimally and disease attacks on brackish water fish. Looking at the condition of partner ponds, milkfish has the potential to be cultivated traditionally plus probiotic technology. Milkfish are easily adapted and high tolerance to salinity and resistant to disease and not cannibalistic. This makes it easy KUB Kuala Bieng and KUBE Mitra Sewarna Lestari are a forum for synergistic partnerships in the context of regional development, especially the development of the brackish water fisheries sector in Aceh Besar Regency. A total of 20 pond farmers who joined KUB Kuala Bieng and KUBE Mitra Sewarna Lestari participated in the activity. The addition of probiotics to the feed affects the absolute growth of milkfish fry by 2.59 cm, while the absolute weight growth is 3.28 grams.
