The Center was established in 2009 founded by several academicians in the University whom concern about the conceivability of arts, both in its academic advancement and in its diverged cultural bases, as the critical resources of the people survival in the global life. Based in Aceh, situated at latitude 2°N-6° N and longitude 95°E-98°E on the Island of Sumatra in the Indonesian Archipelago, The center aims to promote the best represent of art treasures and cultural creations that can be coupled with growth in the global development of science and art skills. Sustained the mission of Syiah Kuala University, as a scientific community and institution of Indonesian of higher educational institution, has the responsibility to fulfill three functions: (a) education, (b) research and (c) community service. These three roles are known as Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Therefore, the maintainable agendas projected by the Center are including activities such as lectures, trainings, seminars, publications, exhibitions, and performances. In particular, the center is fostering cooperation among individuals and institutions globally, especially the human resource in the university and surrounding Acehnese Arts workers to be involved in the development of scientific disciplines as well as applied arts knowledge and skills in schooling, researching, composing, performing, and managing of the art competencies.
