STUDI KASUS: KESEHATAN MENTAL PADA PRIA ASEKSUAL

Abstract


Pada sebagian individu seks tidak menjadi kebutuhan utama atau terdapat pula individu yang memiliki daya tarik seksual yang rendah. Hal ini disebut aseksual yang dapat diartikan sebagai tidak adanya ketertarikan seksual kepada siapapun atau apapun yang dapat memengaruhi kesehatan mental individu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui kesehatan mental pada pria aseksual. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Partisipan penelitian adalah seorang pria aseksual. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui metode wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesehatan mental partisipan pada dimensi kesejahteraan psikologis bahwa partisipan merasa bahagia, nyaman, dicintai, serta tidak merasa rendah diri. Sedangkan pada dimensi distres psikologis, partisipan cenderung merasa kesepian pada waktu tertentu, serta pernah mengalami frustrasi dan depresi. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kesehatan mental partisipan lebih kuat mengarah pada dimensi kesejahteraan psikologis.
