Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The authors should submit their manuscripts via this OJS platform.
For new users, please register at http://jurnal.unsyiah.ac.id/GASPOL/user/register
Once your account is activated, you will need to login and make a submission.

  1. Articles are unpublished results of research or literature review in the field of communication science
  2. Articles are written in Indonesian or English.
  3. Articles in Indonesian should follow Pedoman Umum Ejaaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI), while English manuscripts should not contain any grammar mistakes. We highly recommend using English professional proofreader.
  4. Articles are written in A4 paper format with left, right, top, and under 3 cm margins. The font is Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 spaces. The submission should be between 5,000-8,000 words (including references, tables, and pictures). Details can be seen in the journal template.
  5. All articles must have an abstract between 100 and 200 words in length, followed by three to five relevant keywords.
  6. Articles are arranged systematically: Pendahuluan, Metode Penelitian, Hasil dan Pembahasan, Penutup, dan Daftar Pustaka (For Indonesian Articles) and Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References (For English Articles).
  7. Articles are sent as electronic files (doc or docx format) through the OJS. The deadlines for submitting articles are March and September every year.
  8. Articles must have at least 15 references (excluding internet sources).
  9. The references section follows the APA referencing style 6th edition format. Only references cited in the manuscripts are listed in the reference section.

The following is an example of writing a bibliography in the APA 6th edition format.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial- ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA)
  2. Authors retain the copyright to their work. Users may read, copy and distribute the work in any form, provided the authors and the journal are appropriately credited or cited. Authors are permitted to also store the published article at another website/database systems.
  3. Authors are permitted to distribute the published article to colleagues, post it to open websites - non-commercial, reuse of portions or extracts from the articles in other works. However, authors are not allowed to send their manuscript to other scientific journals once it has been decided to be reviewed by reviewers at Journal of Governance and Social Policy.

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
Authors are required to pay an Article Submission Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

Article Publication: 0.00 (IDR)
If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.

Journal of Governance and Social Policy does not have Article Processing Charges (APCs), Submission Charges and Publication Charges. The journal also does not charge readers for online access. The charges will be applied only if the authors ask for the printed version of the journal (IDR 50,000 for each copy, not including shipping cost).
