Abstract

The community in Umbu Kawolu Village have been using herbal medicines derived from plants for a long time. They concoct or make their own concoctions based on the experience that has been passed down from experience passed down from ancestors to previous generations. The number of human activities in around the Waimarapu Forest can cause a reduction in the number of medicinal plant species that will have an impact on the health of the community. Species that will have an impact on the survival of other ecosystems in the location.. Therefore, this research aims to identify species with traditional medicinal properties in Waimarapu Forest, Umbu Kawolu Village, Central Sumba Regency. This research was conducted using the double plot method with purposive sampling technique. The results showed that there were 37 species of medicinal plants from 4 classes, 20 orders, 25 families with a total of 218 individuals. Diversity of traditional medicinal plants in the Waimarapu Forest is classified as high with Ĥ=3.916.
