Abstract

Lung function test in perioperative periode had important value for predicting risk of the cardiopulmonary complication and death in or after surgical procedure. Surgical technique recently has been developed but still remain have risk of death and cardiopulmonary complication, at the surgical procedure physiologically changes vital capacity (VC) and Functional Residual Capacity (FRC). The examination procedure is spirometry, diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide (Dlco), and physical exercise test. American College of Chest Physician and British Thoracic Society recomendation spirometry and DLco useful as examination before surgical procedure because reduction of DLco is major risk for mortality and perioperative complication.
