Hubungan pengetahuan, sikap dan praktiksantri pondok pesantren Darul Muqomah di Kota Pekanbaru dengan angka kejadian skabies

Abstract

Scabies is a skin infection caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiesi var. Hominis. Based on data from the Pekanbaru City Health Office, there were 29 cases of infectious and parasitic diseases in 2019 and an increase in 2020 to 155 cases.The high incidence rate is due to the increased risk of disease transmission in densely populated residential areas, the high poverty rate and is also influenced by the level of education, knowledge about personal hygiene and inadequate health services.The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and practices of Darul Muqomah Islamic Boarding School students in Pekanbaru City with the incidence of scabies. This research was conductedin the city of Pekanbaru in October 2020 – June 2021. This researchis a correlative analytic study with a cross-sectional approach with a total sample of 132 students of Darul Muqomah Islamic Boarding School Pekanbaru. This study used primary data in the form of filling out questionnaires by Islamic boarding school students and tested using the Chi-square correlation test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Based on the results of univariate analysis, 113 students (85.6%) were not affected by scabies, 68 students (51.5%) had good knowledge, 130 students (98.5%) had good attitudes, 102 students (77.3 %) had good personal hygiene, and 110 students (83.3%) had good habits against scabies. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between knowledge (p=0,272), attitude (p=1,000), personal hygiene (p=0,375) and habits (p=0,739) with the incidence of scabies.
