Tatalaksana benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
Abstract
Abstrak. Benign parokxysmal position vertigo (BPPV) merupakan gangguan vestibular perifer yang paling sering ditemui, sekitar 30%, dikarakteristikkan dengan serangan vertigo yang disebabkan oleh perubahan posisi kepala. BPPV terjadi ketika otolith yang terdiri dari kalsium karbonat yang berasal dari makula pada utrikulus yang lepas dan bergerak dalam lumen dari salah satu kanal semisirkular. Organ vestibular memberikan kode informasi tentang posisi kepala dan berkontribusi pada stabilitas visual dan postural. Diagnosis BPPV dapat ditegakkan berdasarkan Anamnesis, gejala klinis yang ditemukan pada berbagai manuver. Tata laksana BPPV dengan terapi medikamentosa, manuever reposisi canalith, dan pada kasus tertentu membutuhkan tindakan bedah.

Abstract. Benign paroxysmal position vertigo (BPPV) is the most common peripheral vestibular disorder, about 30%, characterized by vertigo attacks caused by changes in head position. BPPV occurs when an otolith composed of calcium carbonate originating from the macula in the utricle detaches and moves within the lumen of one of the semicircular canals. The vestibular organs transmite information about the position of the head and contribute to visual and postural stability. The diagnosis of BPPV can be made based on the history, clinical signs found in various maneuvers. Management of BPPV with medical therapy, canalith repotition therapy, and in certain cases requires surgery.
