Gambaran tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap pedagang tentang penerapan protokol kesehatan 5M di Pasar Paya Ilang Takengon

Abstract

Covid-19 has been identified as the cause of an acute respiratory disease outbreak. Thus, the transmission of Covid-19 is the human-to-human transmission that occurs through droplets and contact with contaminated objects. The government has set rules for implementing the 5M health protocol: wearing masks (memakai masker), washing hands with soap (mencuci tangan), maintaining distance (menjaga jarak), avoiding crowds (menghindari kerumunan), and reducing mobility (mengurangi mobilitas). Based on the rules that the government has set, the market has great potential to become a cluster for spreading the coronavirus because of the high contact rate. This study is conducted to describe the level of knowledge and attitudes of traders towards the implementation of the 5M health protocol in the Paya Ilang Takengon market, and knowing the characteristics of the respondents. This research was a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design. The sample of this research is traders in Paya Ilang market with a total sample is 96 respondents who were taken using a simple random sampling method. The research was conducted from August to September 2021 by distributing questionnaires directly to traders at the Paya Ilang market while the data analysis using univariate analysis. The results showed that the level of knowledge of the respondents was mostly good as much as 82.3% and had a positive attitude as much as 92.7%. It can be concluded that providing education and discipline in implementing health protocols is needed as an effort to prevent COVID-19 in the community.
