Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini berjudul “Kemampuan Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar Membaca Teks Deskripsi”. Masalah yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah Bagaimana tingkat kecepatan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar dalam membaca teks deskripsi dan bagaimana tingkat pemahaman isi bacaan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar dalam membaca teks deskripsi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui tingkat kecepatan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar dalam membaca teks deskripsi dan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar dalam memahami teks deskripsi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar tahun ajaran 2017/2018 berjumlah 82 siswa dengan sampel 20 orang. Sampel diambil secara acak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes dan pengolahan data digunakan teknik kuantitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kemampuan siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar Membaca Teks Deskripsi dilihat dari segi rata-rata kecepatan membaca siswa adalah 109 kpm. Perolehan rata-rata pemahaman siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar terhadap isi bacaan, yaitu 66%. Rata-rata kecepatan efektif membaca adalah 157 kpm.

ABSTRACT

This research is entitled "Ability of Class VII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar Reading Text Description". The problem posed in this study is how the level of speed of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar in reading the description text and how the level of reading comprehension of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar read the description text. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of speed of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar in reading the description text and to determine the level of understanding of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar in understanding the description text. The population of this study was seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar in the 2017/2018 school year totaling 82 students with a sample of 20 people. Samples were taken randomly. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. Data collection is done by testing techniques and data processing using quantitative techniques. The results of data analysis showed the average value of ability of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar Reading Text Description seen in terms of the average reading speed of students was 109 kpm. The average understanding of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Baitussalam Aceh Besar on the contents of the reading, which is 66%. The average effective reading speed is 157 kpm.
