Abstract

Rapid technological advances affect many aspects of life, including the way people buy and sell goods or services. Online transaction is becoming increasingly popular, including in Indonesia. However, although online transactions have many benefits, the issue of legality remains a puzzling issue for many, especially in the context of Islamic law. The purpose of this study is to study the Islamic legal view on the issue of online transaction and analyze aspects related to such transactions, such as the legal terms of the transaction, the delivery of goods, and the responsibilities of the parties involved. This study uses a qualitative approach by collecting data from primary and secondary sources, such as the Quran, hadith, ulama fatwas, and literature on buying and selling online. The data were analyzed using descriptive and interpretive approaches to identify views of Islamic law and its practical implications in the context of buying and selling online. The results of this study found that online transaction in the perspective of Islamic law is allowed with certain conditions that must be met, such as an agreement between the two parties, the validity of the goods traded, and timely delivery of goods. Parties involved in online transactions also have certain responsibilities, such as maintaining the safety and quality of traded goods, as well as resolving disputes fairly in case of problems.
