Abstract

Law No. 26/2007 on Spatial Planning states that district/city governments are

required to allocate a minimum of 30% green open space from the city area, which is 20% public green space and 10% private green space. In reality, the Banda Aceh City Government has only fulfilled 14.33% of its area. This research aims to find out the policies taken and carried out by the Banda Aceh City Government to fulfill Green Open Space. The main data of this research is primary data supported by secondary data. Primary data is obtained through interviews with relevant parties, while secondary data is obtained through documentation studies of laws and regulations, research results, scientific journals and books. The results showed that the Banda Aceh City Government has ten policies to fulfill Green Open Space in Banda Aceh City. Some of these policies include the establishment of Qanun Green Open Space, formulating strategies for community land acquisition to be designated as Green Open Space, creating sanctions to force private parties to fulfill their obligations, sustainable spatial planning, and making regulations and licensing.
