Dr. Suwarno, M.Si. is a Senior Lecturer in Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science. He is an Associate Professor in Entomology. His researches interest are Biodiversity, Ecology and Conservation of Insects, particularly in butterflies. He also done the biological control of some insect as the pests and potential polynator for the economic plants such as, the bees. He obtained his B.Sc in Biology from Andalas University, Padang West Sumatera, Indonesia in 1992 and his master degree at the Institute of Technology Bandung. He got Ph.D from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, in 2009.

Universitas Syiah Kuala (recognizedly abbreviated as USK) is the largest and the oldest national university in Aceh Province, Sumatera, Indonesia. USK was established on June 21st, 1961. USK has a vision to establish itself as an innovative, independent, and outstanding university in term of the development of sciences, technology, humanities, sport and arts, in order to produce qualified graduates who highly honour moral and ethical values. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), USK was established in 1989 as a study program and became the definitive faculty in 1994. FMIPA USK commits with all its potential and resources to strengthen and develop basic sciences which are the basis for the development of science and technology for the welfare of people's lives, especially in Aceh Province.
