Abstract

Labschool is one of the training schools for prospective teachers to develop their practical experience to become professional teachers. ISATU Labschool is one of the schools that provides these facilities for prospective teachers participating in the SEA Teacher Project organized by SEAMEO. Therefore, it is hoped that ISATU Labshool can become a comphrehensive training place for prospective teachers. The uniqueness of ISATU Labshool from the aspect of teaching that relies on lecturers inspired this research. This study examines the relevance of planning and implementing mathematics learning at ISATU Labshool. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The subject of this research wass a lecturer who acts as a mathematics tutor for Year 9 students at ISATU Labshool. Data were collected through observation and interviews. Data on the relevance of planning and implementing mathematics learning were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. Data obtained through observation is triangulated first with the results of interviews so that the conclusions drawn will be based on strong reasons. The results indicate that the planning of learning mathematics at ISATU Labschool is irrelevant to the learning implemented.
