BIOKOMPATIBILITAS BAHAN KAPING PULPA (Tinjauan Pustaka)

Abstract


Bahan pelindung pulpa yang mampu untuk mempertahankan vitalitas pulpa diperlukan pada kasus-kasus terbukanya pulpa, baik yang disebabkan oleh karena karies, trauma, atau faktor iatrogenik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan bahan pelindung pulpa yang mampu untuk mempertahankan vitalitas pulpa tersebut. Bahan pelindung pulpa ini akan berkontak dengan jaringan hidup, yaitu pulpa, maka bahan yang digunakan harus memiliki sifat biokompatibel terhadap jaringan tubuh manusia. Tujuan tulisan ini adalah untuk mengkaji parameter yang digunakan sebagai penentu biokompatibilitas bahan kaping pulpa yang sering digunakan di klinis, seperti Kalsium Hidroksida, Mineral Trioxide Aggregate, BioAggregate, Biodentine dan Nano-Hidroksiapatit berdasarkan penelitian yang dilaporkan. Kesimpulan dari tulisan ini adalah seluruh bahan kaping pulpa memiliki sifat biokompatibilitas yang baik, dengan tingkat biokompatibilitas terbaik dimiliki oleh BioAggregate, Biodentine, MTA, diikuti Nano-HA dan Kalsium Hidroksida.
