Author Guidelines


1.      General Requirements

  1. IJTVBR accepts scientific articles in the form of research result, literature review and Case study in the field of Biomedicine, Health, Tropical Veterinary and Science.
  2. Manuscripts submitted must be original and must not have been previously published nor to be under consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission.
  3. Conference articles or unpublished thesis may only be submitted if they were not originally copyrighted and if they have been completely rewritten. 
  4. Ethical clearance must be provided for manuscript prepared from a research uses humans or animals as subjects.

2.      Specific Requirements

  1. Manuscript should be written in English (US) and should be submitted in triplicate, typed using MS words program on one side of A4 paper (210 cm x 297 cm), with double spacing throughout, and margin of 2.5 cm all around.
  2. A new paragraph should be started with First line 0.38”.
  3. Start a sentence with a word in full letter, not with an abbreviation or a number. Numbers followed by the symbol must be written in Arabic numerals, for example 1 cm, 3 kg.
  4. References should be included parenthetically in text as authors (1 or 2) or authors et al (more than 2), plus date; eg (Grasemann and Schneider, 2014) or According to Grasemann and Schneider (2014); Thavara et al., 2001; 2006) or According to Thavara et al. (2001; 2006); Romero et al., 1989a; 1989b) or According to Romero et al., (1989a; 1989b). Please provide references with a proportion of 60% journal/scientific magazine and 40% textbooks.

3.      Research Paper

  1. The manuscript should be between 5000 – 8000 words in length. 
  2. For uniformity of writing, every manuscript research should consist of: TITLE OF THE PAPER (ALL CAPS, no bold), first and surename of author(s), and the affiliation of all authors. Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment and References should follow sequentially. Tables, figures/images and legend, and graphic could be included.
  3. The title should be written with the ALL CAPS and placed in the middle (center). The title should be short, concise and specific (no more than 12 words), not abbreviated, and informative. A subtitle could be provided when necessary.
  4. The author's name(s) and affiliation(s) should be typed with the Title case format. List all authors when there are less than five; when there are five or more, list only the first three authors with et al. Address correspondence should be completed with telephone numbers, fax, and e-mail.
  5. Abstract (200-300 words) should be typed in single-space format and exclusive form any literature review. Abstract should be constructed in the following structure: summary of background (mandatory), purpose (mandatory), design and methodology (mandatory), findings (mandatory), research limitation and implications (if applicable), conclusion (mandatory) and recommendation (if applicable).
  6. Please provide five to seven keywords that encapsulate the principle topic of manuscript. Keywords should not be repetition of words in the Title.
  7. Introduction should consist of coverage, background, aim(s) and implication of the study. This section should provide enough background for common readers to understand and evaluate results of the study without reading previous reports related to the topic. Please use recent references that can support discussion. 
  8. Materials and Method should clearly describe detailed materials, procedures and statistical analysis used in the study. Brief procedures provided should contain enough information that allows the readers or other parties to repeats the study successfully.
  9. Results and Discussion should be put together and clearly discuss result of the study. Result could be stated in the sentences of presented in tables, pictures or images. Graph or figure should be used only if absolutely necessary. Discussion section should provide enough discussion and interpretation for the obtained results/findings by referring previous related reports/studies.
  10. Each table and figure must be supplied within the manuscript itself. Tables should follow the format of the journal: don not crosshatch, use spacing instead of tabs/indents, and use right justification with number where appropriate. All figures (diagrams, charts, and line drawing) must be drawn clearly in black and with lettering with appropriate size to allow for reduction. Figures must be numbered and cited in the manuscript. Title of table and figure legend should be type in one spacing format. A computer-generated graphics are acceptable only if they are done in a high quality laser printer and prepared in separated document accompanied with the program name and raw data used for graphic construction. Photograph must be of high quality printed in black and white to allow reproduction. Full color printing will involve full cost coverage by authors.  
  11. Conclusion and recommendation should be written separately from result and discussion. Please avoid restating any sentences or statements have been described in the introduction, result and discussion.
  12. Acknowledgement for people or other parties those give significant contribution to the study or manuscript preparation might be included when necessary.
  13. References should be listed in alphabetical order in Harvard style. List all authors when there are less than five; when there are five or more, list only the first three authors with et al. Following the author(s) name(s) should be date, the title, Journal Name (Abbreviated according to the List of Journal Indexes in Index Medicus), volume and issue; first and last numbers separated by a hyphen). Please refer to the following rules and examples for preparing reference list:

  • Online references should include full website address as well as a date that the resource was accessed. Standalone URLs, i.e. without an author or date should be included either within parentheses within the main text, or preferably set as a note (roman numeral within square brackets within text followed by the full URL address at the end of the paper.

4.      Non-research papers (viewpoint, technical/conceptual papers, review, or case study)

Non-research papers should be prepared following the same formats provided but with the following order (systematic): TITLE (ALL CAPS), Author name and affiliation, Summary, Introduction (including problem will be discussed), Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendation and References.

5.      Authors are required to submit a floppy disckete or CD, together the hard copy manuscript to facilitate publication speed. Submission can be made by e-mail, with attached file, but only Windows or Windows-compatible (eg. Apple) operating systems are acceptable.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.

If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.
