Focus and Scope

Jurnal Pengabdian Rekayasa dan Wirausaha (JPRW) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Directorate of Research, Community Service, and Community Development at Universitas Syiah Kuala. JPRW serves as a scholarly platform that welcomes a diverse range of research articles stemming from the collaborative efforts of faculty and student researchers. These articles are presented in the form of comprehensive research papers.

JPRW is dedicated to disseminating research outcomes that revolve around community engagement and entrepreneurial endeavors. Publication Schedule
JPRW publishes biannually, providing a platform for researchers to share their findings and insights with a wider audience. The journal releases issues in May and November, contributing to the ongoing discourse in the realms of community engagement and entrepreneurship.

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Pengabdian Rekayasa dan Wirausaha (JPRW) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly integrity and transparency in the peer review process. Our review policy ensures a rigorous evaluation of submitted manuscripts while upholding the principles of objectivity and anonymity. Here is an overview of our peer review policy and processes:

  1. Number of Reviewers:

    • Each submission to JPRW undergoes a thorough review by a minimum of two anonymous reviewers.
    • Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the relevant field and standing in the academic community.
  2. Review Criteria:

    • Manuscripts are evaluated for contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation.
    • Reviewers are guided by these criteria to provide constructive feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the submission.
  3. Double-Blind Review:

    • JPRW employs a double-blind reviewing policy to ensure impartiality.
    • Reviewers' identities are concealed from authors, and authors' identities are likewise hidden from reviewers.
  4. Review Timeframe:

    • The review process typically takes 6 to 8 weeks.
    • Authors will be informed of the results of the review as soon as possible after the evaluation period.
  5. Triage and Editorial Decision:

    • To expedite the review process, the Editors may conduct an initial triage of submissions.
    • Some submissions may be evaluated internally, and decisions may be made without external review for prompt response to authors.
  6. Final Editorial Decision:

    • The Editors' decision is final, and no correspondence can be entered into concerning manuscripts considered unsuitable for publication.
    • All communication, including decision notifications and revision requests, will be conveyed through the submission system and email.
  7. Recruitment of Reviewers:

    • Reviewers are recruited based on their expertise and experience in the specific subject areas covered by JPRW.
    • The Editors strive to engage reviewers with a commitment to academic excellence and ethical standards.

Publication Frequency

JPRW employs a hybrid publication system to best serve our readers and contributors. Our approach involves a combination of collective issue releases and continuous publication of individual items.     • JPRW will publish collective issues with a dedicated Table of Contents in May and November.

  2. Continuous Publication:

    • Individual items, such as research articles, can be published as soon as they are ready.
    • These items will be added to the "current" volume's Table of Contents throughout the year.
