Depik (Rasbora tawarensis) is an endemic and threatened species occurred in Lake Laut Tawar, Aceh Province, Indonesia. This fish is the trademark of Takengon the capital city of Aceh Tengah District. Currently, the population of Depik is decreased sharply and according to the Conservation Breeding Specialist Group – IUCN which was published 2003, this species has been categorized as Critical Endangered (CR) increased from Vulnerable in 1990. Because of importantly this species in ecology and science, this species is eternalized be the name of this journal.The first issue has published on February 6, 2012.
