Gaya Guru Bercerita terhadap Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun di Taman Kanak-Kanak Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract


Teachers’ storytelling style is the way how teacher tells the story naturally. The purpose of this study were to identifying the teachers’ storytelling style at kindergarten in Banda Aceh. The objectives of this study were identifying the teachers’ storytelling style at kindergartens in Banda Aceh. This study used a qualitative approach with case study design. The researcher purposively chose two teachers and four children in the range ages of five to six as the respondents. Observation was used as the instruments of this study. The conceptual framework was developed based on Kendall Haven (2000) theory that contained the elements of physical. The findings of this study showed that the physical style elements of teachers were facial expressions, hand gestures and eyes movements. The implication of this study, teachers need to improve their abilities in telling story in order to create children’s interest.
