HUBUNGAN EMPIRIS DAYA DUKUNG TANAH DASAR MENGUNAKAN ALAT DYNAMIC CONE PENETROMETER (DCP) DAN CALIFORNIA BEARING RATIO (CBR) RENDAMAN UNTUK DISAIN TEBAL PERKERASAN LENTUR JALAN RAYA
Abstract
Abstract: Subsoil (sub grade) is the lowest layer in highway construction. The reliability of the pavement thickness design is highly dependent on the accuracy of the carrying capacity of the ground. The carrying capacity of the foundation soil known in the value of California Bearing Ratio (CBR) can be determined by Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) equipment. The working principle of DCP is very simple and economical in the field. However, since 2013 the Ministry of Public Works has issued a 2013 Pavement Design Destruction Manual (MDP) which requires the use of CBR values from laboratory test results with 4 day immersion samples. The problem that occurs is the time and cost of testing the sample. CBR immersion with 4 days of immersion will take longer. The cost of sampling, sample preparation and sample testing are also more expensive than testing with DCP tools. With this background, this study aims to find an empirical relationship between the value of ground support capacity (CBR) of both tools (DCP and CBR immersion). This research is a preliminary study of Road Laboratory of Faculty of Engineering Unsyiah and is expected to be developed by multiplying future research samples for more precise results. Empirical values obtained after the research is: CBR Dcp = 1.083 + (0.347 x CBR Lab)
